Patricia Lopez, M.S., LPC-Associate Supervised by Crystal Cox, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT & Karen Knowlton, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S

Patricia (Trisha) Lopez is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) proudly serving the Beeville, Texas community, where she was born and raised. She is currently under the supervision of Crystal Cox and Karen Knowlton and is actively training to become a Registered Play Therapist. Patricia is passionate about working with children, families, and individuals who are seeking healing, growth, and a new beginning in life.

Patricia has been blessed to be married to her best friend of three years, Joel Lopez Jr., a professor at Coastal Bend College. Together they have three wonderful children. Their oldest son, Charles, is 20 and lives in Austin, where he is pursuing his dream of becoming a photographer at Austin Community College, with plans to transfer to the University of Texas. Their 18-year-old son, Xavier, is creative and enjoys making animation movies, playing video games, and attending church. He plans to study computer graphic design and will begin his college journey at Coastal Bend College this fall. Their youngest child, Sophia, is 10 years old and full of energy. She enjoys tumbling, playing basketball, and her favorite sport—softball. Sophia is a true social butterfly who loves making people laugh and being surrounded by others.

The Lopez family are active members of Kingsway Church under Pastor Issac DeLosSantos. Patricia serves in the nursery ministry while her husband serves in the worship ministry. Faith is the foundation of their family life, and they strive to live by the scripture: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15.

Patricia’s academic journey began with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Technology from Coastal Bend College in 2003. After working various contract positions, she felt led to return to school to pursue her passion for helping others. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in 2020. During that time, she was inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), where she also served as a Success Networking Teams (SNT) facilitator, leading small groups focused on leadership and personal development.

In 2024, Patricia completed her Master of Science in Professional Counseling. She was honored to be inducted into Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), the international honor society for counseling professionals, and received the Master’s Leadership Award for her volunteer work and efforts to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

During her clinical training, Patricia worked at Gulf Coast Rehabilitation Center, supporting individuals who had lost custody of their children, were recently released from incarceration, or were navigating probation and recovery. She also gained valuable experience at Cenikor, a residential treatment facility serving South Texas, where she worked with clients facing addiction, including veterans and individuals involved with the justice system.

As a Christian counselor, Patricia is deeply committed to providing each client with a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space rooted in God’s love. She believes counseling is not only a profession but a calling—an opportunity to walk alongside others on their journey toward healing and purpose.

Outside of counseling, Patricia enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and cooking meals for friends and loved ones. She feels honored to be part of Serenity Counseling Services and the warm, faith-filled environment it offers.
